Mantra Lingua's exciting eGrammar tales help all learners todevelop strong reading, writing, speaking and listening skills. They are an effective literacy tool for all stages.
An excellent aid for EAL children, there are clear instructions of what to do in 16 languages, including: Arabic, Bulgarian, Cantonese, English, French, Farsi, Hungarian, Lithuanian Panjabi, Polish, Portuguese, Russian, Somali, Sylheti, Turkish and Urdu.
Taking well known stories as their starting points pupils can read the Mantra Lingua dual language edition of Buri and the Marrow before using the software. Pupils can explore the story of Buri and the Marrow by watching the video, reading the e-version of the story and then working through the activities to fully explore the story. The app can be used by individual pupils on PCs as well as by the whole class on the white board.
All the activities are designed for Key Stage 1 and take vocabulary from the story to give pupils a rich learning experience and deeper understanding.
1. Grammar: synonyms, punctuation and initial letter find.
2. Vocabulary: Look, listen and read the story. Find and read to reinforce knowledge of the story. Words within words, rhyming words and re-write the story.
3. Activities: Make your own talking picture book by writing your own version of the story and putting in Louise Daykin’s pictures from the story or even adding your own. Then you can print the story and fold it into a mini-book using the Storyfold™ system. If you use theStoryfold™ audio paper then pupils can also record themselves telling the story.
“Excellent resource for Foundation, KS1 or for older children or those for whom English is a second language. Vocabulary is rich enough to extend learning yet clear for children to follow and understand. Animated video images, sound and graphics are of a high quality. Will enhance the English curriculum and aid inclusion in almost any classroom.” TEEM Evaluation
