The Interactive Literacy series help develop strong reading, writing and speaking skills in English – an effective e-learning tool. Taking well known stories as their starting points pupils can read the Mantra Lingua dual language edition of The Musicians of Bremen before using the app.
On the app pupils can explore the story of the Musicians of Bremen by watching the video, reading the story and then working through the activities to fully explore the story.
All the activities are designed for Key Stage 1 and take the vocabulary from the story to give pupils a rich learning experience and deeper understanding.
1. Grammar: synonyms, punctuation and initial letter find.
2. Vocabulary: Look, listen and read the story. Find and read to reinforce knowledge of the story. Words within words, rhyming words and re-write the story.
3. Activities: Make your own talking picture book by writing your own version of the story and putting in Nathan Reed’s pictures from the story or even adding your own. Then you can print the story and fold it into a mini-book using the Storyfold™ system. If you use the Storyfold™ audio paper then pupils can also record themselves telling the story.
